感動的微暖芝士撻






來自日本過江龍的Bake 還記得第一天在香港開幕的時候
中午十二時到 隊龍非常長 隊頭告訴我排了三個多小時
最後還要暫停排隊 情況十分誇張

本打算還是有緣再聚 怎料男友為了慰勞我近來上班辛勞
在一天平日 特意到sogo排了四十五分鐘 勇奪芝士撻
在剛放工腦袋累了 肚子也有點打鼓的那刻 送到我眼前  真的讓我感動萬分



芝士撻 $20 (4/5) 

到我手中時已是微暖狀態 
但其芝士的香氣 卻依然厲害
唯一是撻皮有点焗得過火 有少許燶了
但一入口 發覺撻底比半熟工房的厚身 是有點硬得像真曲奇一樣

咬開撻面的芝士薄皮 溶漿會瞬間漏出來 
內餡非常非常流心及fluffy 
充滿豐富的奶香及芝士的咸香
微微的乳酸中和膩感 卻不會喧賓奪主 
熱情澎湃得要你立即整個吃掉 
我相信要是新鮮出爐的話 味道層次一定更鮮明

相信下一次會在不久的東京之旅再重遇你

P.S. 第二次來 是25/10 星期日早上11點 
今次排了半小時 還可以接受
但看似11點半後人龍又長了很多咧@@
不過今次芝士撻不是新鮮出爐 接到手又是微暖的 :<

過譽 - 香港版芝士撻

前陣子 芝士撻熱潮 攘成排長龍的情況
原本也想一試兩間有名芝士撻店的分別 都好像變得遙遙無期
近來星期六的下午經過尖沙嘴 八卦看看
怎料這次的人龍少了一打折 It's finally my time

 
 
 
大概排了15分鐘 剛巧到我們的時候要換新一底出來 真幸運
價錢$22 一個不大不少的芝士撻 實在不菲

 

 
立刻一試 芝士撻雖是第一底 卻只是微熱 完全不燙口
撻底頗鬆脆 但內裡的芝士餡就少許讓我失望
並沒有流心 只是做到像燉奶的質感
大吃一口 你也不會看到芝士餡有想溜出來的衝動

味道沒太多層次 芝士味道很輕 而且只有很少奶香
食罷酸味很重 似乎cream cheese比例佔較多
吃完一件絕對有過膩的感覺

跟日本的Bake Cheese Tart 相比
份量較多 但確實味道是有一定距離的

同意友人所說 It reminds me of Pie & Tart的芝士鮮奶撻

The Candyholic and Chocoholic Paradise

在某雜誌推廣發現一間來自美國有名的Emack & Bolio's 過江龍到港
並距離我公司十分近 於100QRC 附近開店
今日原來的Blue Monday mood 都頓時被這甜甜的期待沖走



是soft opening後的第一天營運
下午一点多我就已經急急腳爬上去看看
從遠處已經見到粉色夢幻的招牌
一入門口 那些色彩繽紛 琳瑯滿目的朱古力及糖果脆筒
在那透明的櫉窗像在閃閃一光一樣 非常吸睛
門面裝潢也是糖果世界一樣的
粉色系列 卡通的食物擺設
牆上掛了一張雪糕味道的menu 介紹
很難會有sweettooth不喜歡吧!





緊張的心情驅使下 已經忍不住問店員什麼味道最受歡迎?
店員推介了流心蛋糕及岩鹽焦糖朱古力脆餅
如較喜歡輕甜味道 則可選朱古力系列中的 咖啡朱古力碎曲奇




價目表:



註:*每個size都已經包了一個sugar cone 想額外再要sugar cone才需要加$10 
Toppings $10一款
其實價錢定位都頗高 可跟Haagendaz比較



想試試水溫 所以還是選擇了Small Size 沒有轉其他cone ($43) - 岩鹽焦糖朱古力脆餅 (3.5/5)
雪糕夠凍 質地結實
食了半球後雪糕沒有怎大副度溶掉
相信這些都正是Emack 能夠誇張地疊五球以上的雪糕於一個小小sugar cone上的原因
(的確見到有買五球的客人!)

份量其實也不少的 雪糕球頗大啊!
雪糕base其實牛奶味不出眾 也不夠滑
但有了焦糖及脆餅 味道的確變得豐富濃厚多了
要一讚這裡的焦糖不太甜 足夠的岩鹽平衡了焦糖的膩感 (其實很多店經常有salted caramel的甜點 但鹽味總是少得尷尬)
焦糖份量亦很足料 加上脆餅增添了口感
滿意啊!

Sugar cone 則普通 夠脆身不會沾到雪糕就變軟 但略甜
下次可以試試Waffle cone


總括而言 這裡的雪糕是近乎實現了所有小朋友心中的幻想
除了漂亮繽紛的外觀 味道也有一定水準
但是否overpriced 就見人見至
至少能夠肯定 Haagendaz/XTC這些老臣子的地位還是穩保的



P.S. 店舖衛生不錯 一來新開 二兩來設備很不錯 雪糕櫃用上闊頂揭式雪櫃 亦有流水一直沖洗雪糕棒

Spacious Spanish lunch at Isono

It is always nice to get ourselves with  a decent Sunday lunch under this wonderful bright summer. With recent restaurant week promotion and knowing that Isono is offering a 4 couse lunch at only $198+10%, I decided give this Spanish restaurant a try.
 
Located at P M Q at Sheung Wan, mounting up to this mid level area was not easy under this sunny weather. When I arrived Isono, I was all sweating. But when the door was opened, its high ceiling and those natural sunlight shining through really amazed me.
 
Very frankly telling that I was alone instead of coming with my companion today, the servers somehow showed their empathy and provided a lot warmer service. Having reserved the sofa seat, it was particularly nice to slighted soak up the sunlight which shined through the windows.

Finally got myself settled and prepared to be self-entertained at this lunch, the bread arrived just in time.  
Baguette (3.5/5)

Single variety in the bucket. Baguette was steaming hot and soft inside, but the crust was a bit too hard to chew. Olive oil was extra virgin and I liked the grassy flavor overflowing in my mouth. A so-so start.  

 
Fresh Japanese Hamachi w/ Tomato, Capers, Olive & Red Onion Dressing (3.5/5)

Opting for a cold appetizer that could chill myself up from summer heat, I chose the sliced Hamachi. This fresh sashimi went so smoothly even with just olive oil and salt. However, adding tomato mashes and capers freshens the dish with a tinge of acidity. If to pinpoint this appetizer gave a tad too oily finish, with a real layer of oil painted on the dish.


 
 Green Pea Soup w/ Squid & Black Ink (4/5)

Green Pea has brought a lot of bad impression to Hongkongers esp. kids as those frozen peas at grocery store tasted so….bad.
 
This sandy and viscous soup however was far sweeter and veggy than I expected. The soup was at first all green when served, and it was so fun to mix it with the dirty ink underneath.    

 

Double-cooked Beef Short Ribs w/ Grilled Seasonal Vegetables (3.5/5)

Was around 60% full when the main was served (though I had requested to slower down the pace). The short ribs were actually layered with melting fats and collagens and juicy, but I was just too full to finish all. I did enjoy the creamy potato mash (in small portion).
 

Catalan Cream Foam w/ Pineapple & Toffee Ice-cream (2.5/5)

Catalan Cream is another name for Crème Brulee. This foamy presentation was not that appealing to me with its rougher mouthfeel, which differed so much from what a crème brulee should like. It was too monotonous and milky with the toffee ice cream and the pineapples dices were too few to establish an acidic backbone from this sweet dessert.


Service at Isono was warm and friendly. Servers were proactive to start a conversation with you whenever they passed by. They missed the food order twice but had quick followup though.

Isono would be a cozy venue for an easy brunch or family gathering with affordable cost but comfortable environment. The happy hour drinks and tapas are good for your pocket and nice to enjoy at its artistic round bar area.

榴槤開箱 - 貓山王

小記今晚與姊姊一起品嘗原隻貓山王的驚喜
要說吃Luxury 榴槤
大概只是曾經在超市買過已經開好的貓山王及牛奶王 
或者是美食博覽常坐鎮的醉榴香貓山王榴槤冰皮月餅

原隻貓山王買回家再自己開@@其實真是第一次
姊姊近來與同事一次過訂幾箱貓山王 (一箱6個,共12kg, 平均$183一個) 
相比起超級市場2條的價錢已經索價$200 經過今次後我一定只會訂原隻吃了 

開箱片段:

沒有誇張 其實就算是裝著這個貓山王的膠袋 一打開 濃郁的榴槤味 真的香得久久不散
(Durian Haters 肯定會窒息)

貓山王的殼很軟 其實不太釘手 把蒂頭切掉
底部其實隱約會見到星型 用刀輕輕一切開 就已經可以見到有幾多瓣



一打開 香味真的完全爆發出來!
見到一件件橙色的榴槤肉都要圓熟得脫殼 開始收水
這真是完全的干包榴槤 就算肉質很軟 幾乎像雪糕般糯軟香滑
外層都不容易爆破 好正!

味道十分十分濃甜 平時可能吃青尼金枕頭要雪一雪才感覺上夠甜
貓山王完全不需要 就算常溫已經好甜
沒有辣舌頭那樣過熟的感覺 口感順滑
而且帶著咖啡栗子般濃郁的aftertaste
齒頰留香 可以停留在口中半小時有多 好好味



今次這個貓山王共有大約14粒 跟姊姊一起KO了 好heavy 但好爽!

You won't forget about this scone

還記得小時候第一次來文華 是因為她那時四五月限定的朱古力下午茶buffet
吃過一次文華的鬆餅 真的無法回頭
就算到兒下午茶 再吃別家的鬆餅及果醬
每次都會不禁想起這兒 你說是多令人煩惱


Scone Set (5.5/5!)
文華鬆餅有原味 提子味 或芝士味 
其實並不便宜 不過在cakeshop($66 1 scone with jam) 或cafe causette ($88 2 scones with jam) 是有價錢分別的 

每次鬆餅端來的時候是暖暖的 但總是差少少熱度
不過除此之外 的確很難再對它有任何挑剔
切開一半 鬆餅結實不會輕易碎開
口感卻十分鬆軟軟糯 餅身濕潤 還有淡淡的牛油香

文華的clotted cream又是一大驚艷之物
奶香是十分誇張而且濃稠
看罷凹凸不平 但其實幾乎有牛油一般滑溜

先塗一層clotted cream於鬆餅上試試 
奶香跟鬆餅的牛油香融合一起 這樣的配搭已很美味
再塗上一層厚厚的文華最有名的玫瑰花果醬 
甜甜酸酸 而且輕輕的一點玫瑰香 帶出這裡的鬆餅獨有的優雅 
這一顆鬆餅就這樣成為我最愛的下午茶小點之一

玫瑰花醬獨有的花香及士多啤梨酸甜的味道 及有趣的比一般果醬杰身的口感 
味道層次豐富 配上它最好的朋友clotted cream 冇得輸!


掛念已久 今日再到文華悠閒的吃個鬆餅 看看書 這樣的空閒最令人滿足了


P.S. 剛巧碰到monthly special的蛋糕 - 熱帶水果味(菠蘿,熱情果,香蕉) (4/5)
加入肉桂 各種味道是配搭得得不錯的 
還有一顆顆焦糖菠蘿作夾心 
唯可以口感再加強一點 特別餅底可以做得更乾身更脆

The Michel Cluizel Candied Orange Slice


Really thrilled that my sis brought me wonderful chocolates from renowned chocolatiers all the way from Paris to HK. With this great amazement, I decided to jot a few notes here to record this wonderful tasting journey.

Recommended by books that Candied Orange Slice (Tranches d'Oranges confites au chocolat) from Michel Cluizel is a treasure not be missed in Paris. And very honestly it did not exaggerate.



The orange slice was not too thick (around 0.5cm) with dense enough flaccid candied pulps. It was in wonderful shiny orange color, and the bottom of the 2 sides was slightly wrapped with dark chocolate. Looking at its shininess and alluringly luscious “half moon”, you just couldn’t resist further.

A sharp pomelo aroma straightly hit through your palate when biting the orange slice. The orange was candied thoroughly which made the rind very chewy and the pulps juicy and jelly glazed. Sweetness was moderate, and it was counterpoised by the bitterness of the dark chocolate. The orange and a bit of citrus botrylis palate actually swirled for some time after chewing.

Nice nice all the way :> And how I wish I could take a step forward to Paris for a dessertholic walk!!!!
